Scholarship Program

HWSA will award three $1000 college scholarships to Houston area women this year. Please review the information below. Deadline to submit the application & other materials is Friday, May 2, 2008. Forward any questions to president@hwsa.org.

APPLICANT CRITERIA
  1. Applicant must be:
    A) a female high school or youth club soccer player or
    B) a female current year HWSA soccer player
  2. Applicant must be: 
    A) a female graduating high school senior who will be attending a college or university or
    B) a female undergraduate student attending a college or university.

Applicant must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Applicant must submit the complete scholarship application, transcripts and letter of recommendation to HWSA by May 2, 2008.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA
Preference will be given to those who require financial assistance to achieve their educational goals, and who have demonstrated exceptional involvement and service to the community.

 

PROCEDURES
The original application and all support material must be received by Houston Women’s Soccer Association before or on May 2, 2008. Mail all documentation to the address below. All applications become property of HWSA and will not be returned. Scholarship winners will be contacted personally and announced on the HWSA website. The decision of the HWSA scholarship committee is final. Proof of college or university registration is required. Scholarship funds will be awarded at an official HWSA scholarship dinner.
