The Houston Tornados first home game will be Friday, May 5. In exchange for promotion at the Tornados home games, .HWSA will provide 12 volunteers at each game. Each HWSA team needs to provide 2 volunteers during the season. Volunteers will work for 1 &endash; 2 hours and receive 2 complimentary tickets to the game.If you would like to volunteer, contact Jessica Meadows at (713) 435-4376.
Vice president:
On April 25 at Cullen Park, there was an attack in the parking lot following a match between Valco and IPP. Several Valco players were waiting with various weapons. Some people sustained injuries and HPD was called. HPD is investigating the incident as a deadly assault. The 2 teams involved played in the Corporate League which until this season was a part of HWSA. HWSA is working to communicate that neither of these teams are currently a part of HWSA. Stephen Jump will contact the city of Houston to make sure they understand that HWSA was not a part of the incident.
Secretary:
1.No fines letters were sent out in April. Letters will be sent in May. All fines will be due at the June league meeting.
2.In April, there were 4 teams who missed roll call and failed to inform the secretary. Only after the minutes went out and notices were sent to the teams did they say they were at the meeting. If a team representative misses roll call, they should see George Barnes immediately after the meeting. This will help the minutes to go out correctly and fines to be assessed properly.
Registrar:
1.Tom Warzywak, has rosters for each coed team. These should be reviewed by the team representative and returned at the June league meeting. New players should be added to the back of the roster, players who are not returning should be crossed out and any errors in the spelling of names, birthdays and other player information should be corrected.
