OFFICER REPORTS
President:
1. Almost all of the player cards have been distributed. If you
are asked to present a card, please do so. HWSA can lose insurance
coverage and state affiliation for having illegal players in games.
2. Each team should have alternate jerseys. The home team is responsible for changing if there is a conflict and should be wearing the jersey listed as the primary jersey. T-shirts and penniess are acceptable.
3. The board retreat is October 23rd. If you have issues you'd like the board to discuss, let a board member know.
Vice president:
1. Elections are during the November meeting. You can be
nominated at the election meeting from the floor. Everyone is welcome
to run.
2. The D&P committee rendered two decisions tonight. For a grievance filed against Texas International Women's 4th division team for duplicate numbers and missing player cards, the committee decided that the TI team will forfeit that game and any upcoming games until they come into compliance. The other incident was a brawl at a corporate game. The offending player has been asked to leave the team by his teammates and both teams were fined $50.
3. Coed Summer Awards - 1st place is $75, 2nd is $50 (registration credit)
1st Division: 1st - Spring Branch 2nd -
BHGM
2nd Division: 1st - No Play 2nd -
Amistad
3rd Division: 1st - Mirage 2nd - Synergy
Secretary:
Keep sending your fines on time!
Treasurer:
1. For the '98-'99 year, HWSA ended up $8.06 in the black.
2. The '00 budget has been revised to include the Corporate
League. We could make
$13,000 next year, and the money will be used for long-range plans.
That estimate assumes expenses based on 30 coed teams, 24 corporate
teams, 8 U-23 teams, 25 women's teams at 18 players per team and
revenues are assumed to remain at the current level.
3. Cash Flow Report: In: $38,000 Out: $27,999. $14,960 in Money Market and $1,600 in the CD.
Registrar:
Team packets are available and player cards are ready. Due to the
Oktoberfest tournament, women's teams will get player cards first. If
you haven't gotten your team's player cards, let Tom Warzywak know.
Email, call, etc.
Senior commissioner:
1. If your team is going to participate in a tournament outside
the South Texas region (Mardi Gras, Dallas, Fort Worth, etc.) you
must have a travel permit.
Women's Commissioner:
1. Standings: 1st Div: 1 - Challengers, 2 - Memorial
2nd Div: 1 - Fever, 2 - Footloose
3rd Div: 1 - Jules FC, 2 - North Shore
4th Div: 1 - Rox III, 2 - PWC
2. If you must reschedule, check with Mary first, but you are responsible for calling the other team. Mary only takes care of the referees and needs to know at least a week in advance.
3. Everyone on the team should be wearing the same uniform and they all have to have numbers. Try to be courteous about jersey colors (wear the color listed on the roster as your primary color).
4. Make sure the game cards go to the referees, but call or email the scores so the standings can be updated.
Coed Commissioner:
1. The issue with the lights has been resolved. The lines and
lights at Alief need improvement.
2. You can pick up standings for games to date.
3. Let Tom know if you have to reschedule because you are playing in a tournament.
4. There is a possibility of adding another night of games if teams are interested.
Corporate commissioner:
1. Hopefully there won't be another incident like the recent brawl at
Cullen.
