OFFICER REPORTS

President:

1.         Player registration

-          HWSA will piggyback off HFA and its Demosphere online registration system.  HFA administrator, Mary DeBauche, will make a presentation later in the meeting.

-          Players will need to be registered online by team reps.  Once players are entered into the online database, they will never need to be entered again.

-          Demosphere will allow easier roster printing and player tracking.

-          The fall season will be delayed by one week to facilitate this registration transition.  The fall season will begin September 14, 2003.

2.        Complaints

-          Complaints should be directed first to the coed or women’s commissioner, as applicable.

-          The HWSA board has no authority at the fields.

-          The HWSA board cannot revoke cards, only the fines associated with the cards.

3.        Coed Commissioner

-          Stephen will be stepping down after the fall season.  Please contact Jen if you are interested in assuming this position.

Vice president:

1.        D&P committee meeting after the league meeting tonight.

2.        The league has experienced a significant number of yellow cards this summer for dissent.  Please remember this is a recreational league, not the world cup.  Referees do not make much money working HWSA games vs high school games and other leagues.

Secretary:

1.        If you missed roll call, be sure to see the Secretary after the meeting, as there is a $10 fine for missing league meetings.

2.        Please be clear on the online game reports regarding forfeits.  The information that is currently being provided is insufficient for the secretary to be able to determine which team paid the referee and how much.

Registrar:

1.        Registrar needs to see team rep for all JFC teams.

2.        Blank ID cards and stickers are available for pickup after the meeting.  Please see the Registrar.

3.        The Registrar will have limited involvement after the transition to the new registration process is complete, but is still available for questions.

4.        Some cards available for pickup tonight.

Treasurer:

1.        2003/2004 budget was presented and approved.  See attachment 1.  Items of note:

-          Player fees increased to $25/player for women and $30/player for coed due to increases in state fees and insurance.

-          The new registration process will cost HWSA $7.50/unique player.
