WOMEN'S SOCCER ASSOCIATION MINUTES OF MEETING
April 4, 2001
The meeting was called to order by Jen Cooper, President,
at Saengerbund Hall at 7:30 p.m.

MINUTES:
Minutes
from the March 7 meeting were approved as submitted.
President:
1.
On
the website feel free to complain (or praise) or ask questions in the Rant
& Rave section.
2.
Coed
rainouts will be added at the end of the schedule. There are lots of byes in
this season’s schedules so that all teams could play.
3.
Please
support Saengerbund Hall – they give us this space for free so they expect that
we buy from their bar occasionally. HWSA will pay for the soda & beer at
the player registration meetings (late May, late August, late January
meetings).
4.
As
of September 1, 2001, HWSA can no longer accept player ID cards that show
Social Security numbers. Please convert any ID cards with SS#s before September
1. Registrar has plenty of extra cards.
Vice
president:
D&P committee is currently
handling a referee assault case and a double grievance. Referee abuse and
assault (both verbal and physical) is taken very seriously by the league, and
also must be reported to the state D&P committee.
Secretary:
Please pay
outstanding fines for yellow cards, red cards and missed meetings.
Registrar:
1.
Deadline
to add players for the spring season is April 15th.
2.
Trying
to get HWSA drop box at registrar’s house, call before you come over.
3.
Anything
sent in the last two weeks will be laminated tomorrow and in the mail; if
trouble call on Monday or before 10am or e-mail.
4.
We
now have plenty of ID cards and can send out rosters by e-mail.
Treasurer:
1.
We
need volunteers to help propose budget for playing year 2001-2002.
2.
Get

The
Challengers women’s team qualified for National Cup.
Women's
Commissioner:

Don’t
give checks to the refs.
2.
Teams
are responsible for the actions of their spectators. If they get out of hand,
your team can be carded and fined.
3.
Northwest
Indoor Soccer has new women’s league for the summer. Their league is linked to
the HWSA website.
4.
Angie
Benton from Pursuit is doing the MS150 if you want to donate money let her or
Mary know.
5.
Any
reschedules must be played by June 10th; you can use Thursday or Friday
at Alief if available.

applications are online, Scholarship chair Kevin New from Orange Crush had 7
applications turned in so far; deadline can be extend after April 6th

Tournament
Quickfoot
6v6 is May 19 Beer Creek. Application forms now available. Teams can be formed
by any players – don’t have to come from existing teams but must be registered
players. If you win you can go to Nationals in Dallas.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Liz
Benavidez is organizing under 23 league, deadline is May 19th. Her
info is online.

WUSA
1st game: FREEDOM v. CYBERAYS on TNT, April 14, 1 pm.
3.
A
skills clinic for female players is on the weekend of the Fiesta Tournament.
Saturday, April 21, 9:30 – 11, Alief. $5 per person.
4.
Yearly
Elections are April 25th for Vice President, Treasurer, and
Registrar. Also Special election for Secretary.
